Editing events
Use the Events list to correct AI findings or add observations made during review. Changes are saved with the Bundle and immediately appear in the Events list and events bar.
When events are editable
You can edit events in these situations:
- Recording review: the active Bundle is not currently being analyzed or re-analyzed.
- Live camera inspection: recording is active.
When editing is unavailable, the add and delete actions are hidden and clicking an event seeks to its position as usual. Events loaded by Bundle Compare are reference data and always remain read-only.
Add an event
- Open the Events list in the analysis panel.
- Move the recording to the position where the event begins. During a live inspection, Vidsy uses the current elapsed recording time.
- Click Add an event (
+) in the analysis toolbar. - Enter an event name in the new row. Choose a suggested event type or enter your own text.
- Edit the time or details if needed.
Choose comment when you want to add an inspection note instead of a detected condition. Enter the comment text in Details. Pipe-inspection exports map comments to the standard BDB observation code.
The new event has no end time until you set one. If several recordings or cameras are selected and Vidsy cannot determine where to store it, select one Recording or camera and try again.
Edit an event
Select an editable cell in the event row:
- Start or End: use the slider to find the correct frame. The video follows the slider so you can verify the position. Click Save to keep the time, or Cancel to restore the previous playback position without changing the event. Vidsy keeps the start and end times in a valid order automatically.
- Event: choose a suggested event type or enter free text. Press Enter or leave the field to save; press Escape to cancel.
- Details: choose a suggested detail when the event type provides them. Click Fields to add, change, or remove additional key/value information, then click Save. Field names must be filled in and unique.
The Source column identifies the Recording or camera and cannot be edited.
Delete an event
Hover over an editable row and click Delete this event (the trash-can icon at the right). The event is removed immediately without a confirmation dialog.
Use Ctrl+Z to undo an add, edit, or delete. Use Ctrl+Y to redo it.
If you delete the wrong event, press Ctrl+Z before continuing with other edits.
Select a report snapshot
An event's icon also controls whether the event contributes a snapshot to Excel and PDF reports.
- Click the icon to turn the snapshot on or off. A blue icon means a snapshot is selected.
- Right-click the icon and choose Set snapshot location to select another frame from the Recording.
- Choose Reset snapshot location to return to the event's recommended frame.
Snapshot selection is unavailable when an event has no single stored Recording behind it. CSV exports never include images.
Customize the Event list
Projects and templates can define extra Event-list columns for values such as distance, clock position, or measurements. These columns can use text, indicators, bars, or a clock-position dial, and their order can be tailored to the project. You can still edit the complete event payload through Details.
To change how times are shown, right-click the Start or End header and choose milliseconds, seconds, or one of the available elapsed-time formats. Start and End can use different formats, and your choices apply across projects.
