Video Controls

Video controls appear on recordings and video observations. Use them to play, pause, jump through analysis frames, open the snapshot dialog, and review observations or detection events at the current play position.

Control buttons

ControlAction
Go to start of fragmentJumps back to the start of the current video fragment.
Play/PauseStarts or pauses playback.
Time displayShows the current play position and total video duration.
Take snapshotOpens the snapshot dialog for the current frame.
Playback speedToggles playback between 1x and 2x.
FullscreenOpens the video in fullscreen mode.

When a snapshot is opened from the controls, playback pauses first so the captured image or clip starts from the frame you selected.

Position and info bars

Recording views also show an info bar below the controls:

  • The position bar shows where you are in the recording and can be used to seek.
  • The observations bar marks where model observations exist in the recording.
  • The detection events bar marks where stored detection events occur.
  • The active text area can show the categories or detection events that are active at the current play position.
  • The recording info area shows when the recording was last analyzed. For recordings with multiple files, it shows the most recent analysis timestamp across those files.

The exact bars shown depend on the current view and display settings.

Keyboard shortcuts

In the recordings view, these shortcuts work globally — no need to click the video first.

  • In multi-video view, shortcuts target the last selected recording.
  • In single-tab view, shortcuts target the recording shown in the active tab.
  • Shortcuts are suppressed while focus is in a text field, search box, or other editable area.
ShortcutAction
SpacePlay or pause the video.
Left Arrow / Right ArrowJump one analysis frame backward or forward.
Alt+F12Open the snapshot dialog for the current frame.
Shift+Ctrl+CCopy all annotations at the current frame. Only works while paused.
Shift+Ctrl+VPaste copied annotations to the current frame. Only works while paused.

Arrow key navigation uses the analysis frame interval, typically about 150 ms. This keeps frame-by-frame review aligned with the frames Vidsy analyzes.

Copy and paste are intended for video labeling. The copied frame data stays scoped to the current video observation.

note

Video preview cards in the index view still require the video area to have focus before shortcuts apply.
